Construction material validation

Selection of construction materials is crucial in safety, as combustible construction often allows large losses. Physical parameters and combustion characteristics are the factors to be considered in material selection, thus fire tests are needed to validate fire safety of the construction materials.

We have accumulated expertise in live fire tests since 2011, and have provided construction material validation services from 2013 for our clients, in collaboration with Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT).

Full Scale Fire Test

Full scale fire test simulates real fires to predict combustion patterns and combustion products.

Small Scale Fire Test

Previously, samples of construction materials were set on fire to evaluate combustion characteristics and physical parameters. Fire Propagation Apparatus (FPA) from FM Global allows us to quickly validate construction materials in a small-scale testing, by controlling the oxygen concentration within the apparatus.
